International Tension: Trump Threatens Iran
Escrito por HITS 96.5 el junio 19, 2025
U.S. President Donald Trump once again captured global attention this Wednesday by stating that he does not rule out the possibility of launching a military strike against Iran. During a press conference, Trump made an ambiguous remark:
“I might do it. I might not. Nobody knows what I’m going to do.”
These words have raised concern among analysts and international leaders, as they reflect an unpredictable stance amid a conflict that has been escalating in recent months.

In response, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, firmly addressed Trump’s comments. Speaking from Tehran, the Ayatollah declared that there would be no mercy for Israel and outright rejected the United States’ demand for Iran’s “unconditional surrender.” Khamenei made it clear that Iran will not yield to pressure or threats and is prepared to resist any form of foreign aggression.
This exchange comes in the context of rising tensions between the two countries, following U.S.-imposed economic sanctions, conflicts in the Middle East, and disputes over Iran’s nuclear program. The international community is closely watching the situation, as it could have serious consequences for global stability.

Why Are the U.S. and Iran in Conflict
For years, tensions between the two countries have stemmed from several key issues:
- Iran’s nuclear program, which the U.S. sees as a serious threat.
- Economic sanctions imposed by the U.S. aimed at weakening Iran’s military and financial power.
- Iran’s support for armed groups in the Middle East, such as Hezbollah, which are enemies of Israel.
- The U.S. withdrawal from the international nuclear agreement with Iran in 2018, during Trump’s presidency.
What Could Be the Consequences of This Conflict?
A U.S. military strike against Iran could trigger a war in the Middle East with severe consequences:
- Human casualties: An armed conflict could result in the deaths of thousands of civilians and military personnel.
- Oil price surge: Iran plays a key role in the global oil trade. A war could drive up gas prices and affect the cost of goods worldwide.
- Attacks on U.S. allies: Iran might retaliate by targeting U.S. military bases or allied nations like Israel, Saudi Arabia, or even economic targets.
- Global instability: A war in that region would disrupt the global economy, trade, tourism, and overall security.
- Refugee crisis: Many people in Iran and neighboring countries would be forced to flee, creating a significant humanitarian crisis.
